The Twin Mill is a twin-engined concept car that was made for the 1969 Hot Wheels lineup. It features a doorless canopy design with two large block engines on the front. The Twin Mill is still very popular today and is considered a classic and iconic Hot Wheels model. Although the first one came in Spectraflame colors, the current version of the Twin Mill is painted in a Mobile 1 paint scheme.
In 1973, Mattel collaborated with Shell for a promotional car giveaway. Twin Mills were handed out to customers at Shell gas stations. In 1993, the casting was retooled and the model was re-released in the Vintage Series in celebration of Hot Wheels' 25th anniversary. In addition, Mattel commissioned Carson Lev to create a life-size version of the Twin Mill in 1998, and it was released at the 2001 SEMA Show after a couple of hiccups during the project.
